Flute Ensemble Receives Contra Bass Gift

The Hot Springs Flute Ensemble Executive Director Dr. Jackie Flowers is pleased to announce a donation of a contra bass flute by Dr. Neeraj Bharany and his family. Dr. Bharany is a local oncologist in Hot Springs who also has a great passion for arts and music. Besides his love of music, he is a very talented artist and has produced many beautiful paintings. When his daughter Kajal won the Julian Herring Scholarship for membership in the Hot Springs Flute Ensemble four years ago, he discovered he loved the sounds of the flute choir. He states “They have given so much to the community through their performances, youth scholarships, educational seminars, and fundraising concerts, and my daughter has received so much from the ensemble, that this is my way of saying thanks. Their music has touched everyone’s heart and soul.”

The Bharany family graciously held a get-together party for the ensemble to end their season last spring. Mrs. Bharany is very active in helping the group in many ways, including photography. The Flute Ensemble will be using the donated instrument in their Oct. 24th concert, which is a fundraiser for the Garland County Humane Society. It will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 3 PM this Saturday. HSFE Board Youth Member Sarah-Marie Linneman will be the regular player of the instrument, which will also be used in all the upcoming concerts throughout the Christmas Season.

Flowers states, “We are so thankful for this incredible donation, as it would have taken years for us to raise the funds for this instrument!” The ensemble is the largest one in Arkansas and is a registered non-profit organization.
